He also was involved in several real estate projects in his congressional district that benefited from earmarks he got added to spending bills. I&#39;m pretty sure that the attorney who was initially helping him with this mess was his partner in a number of those deals. He was one of Hastert&#39;s closest friends and a long-time GOP county chairman.Gary R.
